The French Packaging Council (CNE) emphasizes that the European Waste Directive 2008/98/EC provides for organic valorization via aerobic or anaerobic processes (respectively composting and methanization) of bio-waste (kitchen and garden waste) as valorization modes when returning to the soil. The Packaging Directive 94/62/EC also uses this valorization mode for packaging.
