Can you tell us a few words about your job and ADF&PCD’s actions?

My job consists in coordinating the different aspects of the fair’s organisation. As the Fair Manager, I am required to implement it and meet the principals as well as the exhibitors who are going to participate in the fair.

ADF&PCD is Europe’s premier innovation event in the aerosol, dispensing systems and cosmetics industries. It is a platform for exchanges and the only way of displaying innovations and knowhows of these sectors.

Which highlights should we expect from the ADF&PCD 2018 Paris Fair?

We are moving into a brand-new and recently renovated building – the Hall 7 at the Porte de Versailles. As organisers of the ADF&PCD fairs dedicated to innovation in packaging, we must offer the same mindset, as well as our visitors and exhibitors. Therefore both our visitors and exhibitors will have the opportunity to test out our Poken technology… 3 new areas have been designed to experience innovation even more:

  • The Accelerator (Start-up)
  • The ITT (Innovation Technology Theatre)
  • The Pentawards
  • 100 new exhibitors taking part in the fair for the first time, some of whom will surprise you with their innovative products.
  • The ADF&PCD Awards, which will be welcoming new prestigious members.

Speaking about highlights: on the 1st of February 2018, as part of your fair, the French National Packaging Council (CNE) will be chairing a session called ‘E-commerce: challenges for the packaging industry’. Could you tell us more about it? (round table participants, topics, etc.)

This one hour-long round table will be chaired on Thursday 1st February by Michel Fontaine from the French National Packaging Council.

“E-commerce: challenges for the packaging industry”: in an ever-changing retail market in which firms have to consider a life cycle approach to design products and packaging that meet the various demands of online and in-store retailers, the ever-growing customers’ preferences as well as the development of the legislative landscape. E-retailers and producers must work together in this evolving environment and take a closer look at their products, their packaging materials, their processes, their logistics and their end-of-life management in order to improve the efficiency of materials and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Thus far, confirmed speakers are Stéphanie Havard from Procos, and Jean-Marc Megnin from Shoppermind. Jean-Philippe Homehr from Dssmith, Carine GUERBET from Neopost Shipping. Other speakers will be participating in this passionate and exciting debate.

The French National Packaging Council and ADF&PCD have been working together for a long time. Could you tell us what this partnership has resulted in?

Indeed, this partnership was born many years ago thanks to Michel Fontaine’s support, who was already very involved in ADF&PCD at the time.

ADF&PCD is the fair dedicated to innovative packaging solutions as well as a meeting platform to share and debate on current topics. For this reason, we want to gather national and international associations together around issues and solutions that will move the industry forward. The French National Packaging Council therefore naturally comes into play.

Any suggestions to strengthen the partnership between the French National Packaging Council and ADF&PCD even more?

Implementing a yearly session with the French National Packaging Council to discuss the results of the different working groups that are meeting regularly.

Welcoming the French National Packaging Council into our prestigious Awards Jury. We are focusing on the environmental aspect.

Providing a dedicated space in the ADF&PCD exhibition where the French National Packaging Council could meet its current and future members.
